Lyrics for John 4:19-34

This hymn teaches about the glory of God and worship.  It teaches about the work of Christ and the high privileges he gives to his children.  It teaches about the true place of worship around Jesus Christ in heaven.  It ends with doxology as we sing of the triune God's glory and mystery.  I hope you will sing it to the tune and read the Scripture passage, to which links are given.  --Bill

O God We See Your Glory
in Jesus Christ Your Son

To the tune: KING’S LYNN (http://www.hymnary.org/hymn/CCEH/1264). Based on John 4:19-34. Words: Bill Weber, 2011.

v. 1
O God we see Your glory
in Jesus Christ Your Son.
The work You gave He finished,
in dying it was done.
And now the way to worship
in heaven opened up,
for Jesus gave His body
and drank the Father’s cup.

v. 2
How wonderful, dear Father,
that worshippers You seek.
Your Son the place of meeting,
replaces temples weak.
No longer on a mountain,
nor in Jerusalem,
but ’round our Christ in heaven
we pray and praise Your name.

v. 3
How great how high our priv’lege
to call the Lord our own.
By faith to be uplifted,
and worship ’round His throne.
For we are heirs of heaven,
who once were heirs of hell.
For Jesus brought atonement,
in Him we live and dwell.

v. 4
We praise You, O our Father,
through Jesus Christ Your Son.
And thank You for the Spirit,
who joins us to You, one.
Our praise to You we offer,
Your glory, grace we speak,
but never can we fully
Your majesty perceive.
